As a father, I am always cognizant of being a positive role model for my daughter. In doing so, I try to show her that when we have the means to improve the lives of those in our community, we step up and do so. That’s why I have been an active leader in PTA, why I am involved heavily in advocacy groups, and why I have stepped up to run for the state house.
Democrat for State House 46
Micheal Garza
Father. Husband. Small-Business Owner
Meet Micheal
Family is at the center of who I am as a person and the backbone of every decision I’ll make as a public servant. My wife Samantha and I have been together for over two decades. We met at her best friend’s wedding and have since enjoyed a life of laughter, shared pain, fun road trips traveling the southeast, and now being parents to an incredible seven-year-old.
Emma is just like her mom – smart, independent, and funny. We spend our time together writing stories, listening and dancing to Taylor Swift, going to the park on weekends, reading children’s books, and watching Wild Kratts.

In my professional life, I’m a small-business owner with a background in telecommunications. For over a decade, I worked for EarthLink, starting from the ground up answering support calls from customers to eventually having P&L responsibility for the business web hosting and internet division of the company.
In 2009, I started my own web development firm after the Great Recession made finding employment impossible. In this role, I have a unique viewpoint in both being an owner of a small business and facilitating the development of other small businesses by creating their online presences.
Our family attends Transfiguration Catholic church in Marietta. My wife and I have been active in the Marriage Encounter ministry for the last ten years, recently serving as leaders of the Marietta/Woodstock chapter.
Making a Positive Impact In Our Communities
Support Public Schools & Educators
Rather than fighting culture wars, we should focus on fully funding our public schools, improving literacy rates, reducing class sizes, supporting student emotional well-being & giving educators more autonomy over funds spent in their classrooms.
Reduce Gun Violence
Deaths of children due to firearms has almost doubled in the last five years. I support common-sense initiatives proven to reduce gun violence in our communities, like secure storage laws, extreme risk laws, and background checks on all firearms transfers.
Restore Women's Healthcare Choices
I support the right of women to have complete control over making private medical decisions that impact their future. I will pursue policies that remove barriers to reproductive healthcare and improve maternal health outcomes in our state.

Donate To Our Campaign
I know many of you are on a tight budget, and we will be too. Our campaign will be lean and efficient, focused on efforts that provide us maximum return with minimal investment.
Your contribution will be used for things like printing flyers to give to residents in our face-to-face interactions, creating yard signs to get the word out about our campaign, and strategic social media buys to reinforce our message.
We are running a true grassroots campaign, and every dollar you donate will help!
